Jesus, who was he?

Jesus was born out of wedlock in Nazareth, a small village in Galilee, to a very young woman who was married off to an older, recently widowed man with many children of various ages. It seems that he never had any younger brothers or sisters, and when he grew older and began to appear as the Son of Man, no one in his family or in Nazareth believed in him.

He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not. — Isaiha 53:3

His brethren therefore said unto him, Depart hence, and go into Judaea, that thy disciples also may see the works that thou doest. For there is no man that doeth any thing in secret, and he himself seeketh to be known openly. If thou do these things, shew thyself to the world. For neither did his brethren believe in him. — John 7:3-5

But Jesus, said unto them, A prophet is not without honour, but in his own country, and among his own kin, and in his own house. — Mark 6:4

He had power far beyond others and quickly gained a reputation as a penitent. People sought him out and he brought the message of the kingdom of God and the world of the devil. He performed tangible miracles such as walking on water and creating bread and grilled fish to feed crowds. And he raised the dead, such as Martha and Mary's brother who had been buried for several days. To this day, the village where this happened has the Palestinian name al-Eizariya, which means "the place of Lazarus". In Jesus' time, the village was called Bethany.

Up on a mountain where he went with three of his disciples, he learned how he would soon be killed in Jerusalem.

And after six days Jesus taketh with him Peter, and James, and John, and leadeth them up into an high mountain apart by themselves: and he was transfigured before them. And his raiment became shining, exceeding white as snow; so as no fuller on earth can white them. And there appeared unto them Elias with Moses: and they were talking with Jesus. And Peter answered and said to Jesus, Master, it is good for us to be here: and let us make three tabernacles; one for thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elias. For he wist not what to say; for they were sore afraid. And there was a cloud that overshadowed them: and a voice came out of the cloud, saying, This is my beloved Son: hear him. — Mark 9:2-7

He came from God to earth and was born as a son of men, and he will be eternal king for all people who are fit for eternal life.

Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life. — John 5:24

Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away. — Matthew 24:35
